About the Event
Fengjing is a beautiful water town in Shanghai, bordering Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Compared to other famous ancient towns, it is more authentic and less touristy. The Painting Village close by is home of Chinese Folk Painting. The unsophisticated yet powerful work from the local villagers conveys passion for rural life and their understanding of the world.
We will take a private bus from the city and drive for 1.5 hours to Qingpu. After choosing our bikes, we will start pedaling in the countryside. Our first stop is the Farmer’s Painting Village. We will visit the art galleries and studios. We may also have a chance to meet artists at work and share thoughts with them.
Before we get back to the bikes, we will visit the Polish Upside-down House. We may feel dizzy and disoriented but the photos would be great and the experience fun.
The second part of the ride is a short one. We will pedal directly to the restaurant in the center of the ancient town by the canal. After a satisfying lunch to congratulate ourselves on finishing the bike ride, we will wander around and take a boat ride to fully explore the charming little town. We will drive back to the city later in the afternoon.
