Connected by a causeway to the mainland, Dongshan is quietly nestled on the banks of Tai Lake, just south of Suzhou. The peninsula is known for its rural charm, with tea plantations, fruit orchards, and hidden historical sites. 

We'll hike to the highest peak in Dongshan for a spectacular view of Tai Lake before descending into an ancient village surrounded by fruit orchards and gardens. 

Spring brings blooming fruit trees and tea leaf picking, while summer is the season for loquats and lotus flowers. In autumn, mandarin oranges are ready for harvest, and many orchards open to visitors for fruit picking – an experience not to be missed if the timing is right!
